Channel 11

Channel 11 is an electronic music producer and DJ, who creates music through meditation and an intuitive, experimental process. While she has been obsessed with electronic music since she discovered it on pirate radio stations as a child in the early 1990’s after moving to Ireland from Canada, it was not until much later that she began creating it, much to her surprise. 

During the Easter weekend of 2015, unfamiliar melodies and sequences began to reveal themselves in the air after she was awakened by a particular meditation an old friend had encouraged her to do. She made it her mission to capture them as best she could with an old piano and the software she found on her iPad, which she had never used before. More and more music came through intuitive guidance over the following months and she released her first EP, Sun + Moon later that year. “Channel 11” came through as her artist name because the number 11 symbolises alignment, harmony and the connection between the creative source and the earth plane and Channel 11 represents what can happen when you tune into these frequencies… 

DJing was a natural progression from production and she soon began playing out at events in London and Ireland. Realising her passion for taking people on a journey through a sequence of beautiful electronic melodies, in 2018 she launched SOURCE, an intimate progressive electronic night in East London with the support of her friend Marc Ibanez, a well-respected figure in the Irish electronic scene for his electro and techno wizardry.

Taking an intuitive, fluid approach, Channel 11 plays eclectic sets that often encompass a wide range of genres such as ambient electronica, organic house, space disco and deep techno. Taking in a gently-shifting melodic soundscape along the way, her sets end up in places that are completely different and far away from where they started because for Channel 11, music is all about the journey.
